Essential Skills Cookery
Join our 4 week course to brush up on your cookery skills. The course is perfect for anyone about to leave home, those new to the kitchen looking for a foundation of basic cookery skills or those just looking for new ideas for meal times. Running over 4 consecutive weeks, you’ll cook a new delicious meal each week and sit down to enjoy your food together at the end of each session.
Week 1: Roasted vegetable lasagne with dressed salad.
Week 2: Aromatic chicken curry with rice and quick pickle.
Week 3: Lamb kofta flatbreads with creamy hummus.
Week 4: Pan fried sea-bass with potato wedges and crushed peas.
Level/ Suitable for: Beginners looking to improve their kitchen skills.
Skills/ techniques/ content covered: Knife skills, sauce making, roasting, working with spices, cooking rice, meat prep and cooking, basic bread making, fish prep and cooking, food presentation, recipe adaptions, kitchen organisation, food safety, seasonality and meal planning.
Age suitability: 18 years upwards.
