Essential Skills Cookery

Join our 4 week course to brush up on your cookery skills. The course is perfect for anyone about to leave home, those new to the kitchen looking for a foundation of basic cookery skills or those just looking for new ideas for meal times. Running over 4 consecutive weeks, you’ll cook a new delicious meal each week and sit down to enjoy your food together at the end of each session.

The menu:

Week 1: Spaghetti carbonara and dressed green salad.

Week 2: Aromatic chicken curry with rice and quick pickle.

Week 3: Chicken fajitas with guacamole and fresh salsa.

Week 4: Sweet & sour pork with sesame noodles.

Level/ Suitable for: Beginners looking to improve their kitchen skills.

Skills/ techniques/ content covered: Knife skills, sauce making, roasting, working with spices, cooking rice, meat prep and cooking, food presentation, recipe adaptions, kitchen organisation, food safety, seasonality and meal planning.

Age suitability: 18 years upwards.

Workshop Length: 2 hours per week (includes around 20 minutes eating time, this is a 4 week course)
