Based in Brislington, Little Kitchen Cookery School is a small independent business offering affordable cookery classes for adults and children. We offer a range of evening and weekend classes from Pâtisserie masterclasses, Curries of the World and Chocolate Masterclasses.

Kitchen Assistant roles:

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of ingredients and equipment for workshops
  • Washing up and cleaning
  • Ensuring all hygiene and safety procedures are adhered to at all times
  • Assisting Cookery Tutors in the preparation and smooth running of workshops.

Requirements:

  • Must be enthusiastic, reliable and hardworking
  • Adaptable and keen to learn
  • Able to work independently and on own initiative
  • Experience in a similar role advantageous
  • An up to date food hygiene qualification an advantage

Starting pay £8.00/ hour, reviewed after a 3 month probation.

Position 1: This is a permanent, contracted role for someone who is looking for a longer-term position. 10 or 20 hours a week over 3-4 shifts to include daytimes, evenings and weekends.

Position 2: Zero hour contract. 1-2 shifts/ week to include weekend and evenings.

Tutor role:

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering children’s parties from premises and off site
  • Delivering children’s workshops
  • Delivering small number of adult workshops
  • Potential to deliver cookery clubs off site at schools

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Enthusiastic, warm and friendly
  • Reliable and hardworking
  • Experience in speaking in front of large groups of adults
  • Available to working evenings (mainly Saturday) and weekend day time.
  • Some daytime work during school holidays.
  • Possess a full Driving licence and have access to a car
  • Patient, organised, committed
  • Passionate about cooking
  • Experienced in cooking
  • Adaptable and keen to learn

Desirable:

  • Experience of working with children
  • Experience in a similar role advantageous
  • An up to date food hygiene qualification an advantage

This is a zero hours role. Approximately 3- 8 hours/ week with potential for this to increase as the role expands. Pay to be discussed at interview.
