First Year Foods Cookery
Our First Year Foods Cookery Course is very much hands on and designed to provide ideas and inspiration for cooking for your baby, whilst making it as enjoyable and stress-free as possible! Each session will start with the all important a cuppa and a demonstration, before you work in pairs with another parent to prepare and cook up a variety of dishes and snacks, making several portions to take away. Whether your baby is approaching second stage weaning at seven months months old or is a year old, dishes can be prepared (or frozen) to suit your them and their feeding stage.
Each week will cover:
- Hygiene and food safety
- Adapting recipes
- Time saving tips and suggestions
- Nutrition basics
Also covered: batch cooking, mealtime tips, tips for food shopping, cooking for the family and portioning.
Sessions are delivered by Madeleine, whose daughter was born in May 2016. With several months experience of cooking and feeding Francesca along with focus group feedback from parents, she has carefully planned the course.
All sessions are run from The Crypt at St Cuthberts Church, opposite Little Kitchen on Wick Road. Baby changing facilities are provided, as well as plenty of space for push chairs/ car seats and blankets for babies to lie and play on whilst you cook! Packaging will be provided, although do feel free to bring along your own tuppaware! Please let us know your name and your baby’s as well as their age when booking. Some special dietary needs can be acommodated- please contact before booking.
Next 4 week course: Consecutive Fridays October 13th- November 3rd, 3pm-4pm. £85.00/ parent + baby. If you would like to make a private booking for 5 or more people on a day/ time to suit you, please contact us directly.
